Flowering - February - April. Habitat - Swamps, shallow streams, ponds. Origin - Native to North America. Other information - This attractive and unique species can be found scattered throughout Alabama wherever suitable habitat occurs. The bright yellow flower stalks combined with the bluish-green leaves make this species unmistakable. The leaves have a coating that sheds water easily.
